Sheila Wissner is a watercolor artist who splits her time between Michigan and Florida where she focuses her artistic efforts primarily on plein air painting. She holds a degree in art education from Western Michigan University and has taught at the elementary, middle school and community college levels.
Sheila has won a number of awards including the Hagerty Award, 2016 Crooked Tree Arts Center Plein Air Paintout; first place, quick draw, 2016 Glen Arbor Art Association Plein Air Weekend; second place, "Sundowner", 2016 Paint the Beach, Fort Myer Beach, FL.; second place, 2017 Light Chasers Annual Show, Sarasota, Fl.; third place, quick draw, 2017 Paint the Beach, Fort Myers Beach.
Sheila also enjoys photography and creating jewelry. She and her husband, Wayne, live in Bear Lake in Manistee County in the summer and Cape Coral, Fl., in the winter. They have two children and five grandchildren. The grandkids sometimes join grandma on plein air outings.
