Surrounded by family members who placed a high value on artistic expression, including a great aunt who advocated color-composed meals, Pam Spicer was bound to pursue a career in the visual arts. After receiving her BFA in graphic design from Alma
College in her native Michigan, Spicer moved to Chicago to begin her career in design as Art Director for Frankel & Company in Chicago and then later worked as Creative Director for Simon Marketing in Oakbrook, IL. Adding to her professional mix, she also taught design at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Today Pam lives in Benzie County, Michigan with her husband Steve, where she is an active participant in the rich local arts community and enjoys getting out into nature; photographing and painting the lush landscape.
Pam uses oil paint to translate shadow, light and vivid color found in nature into landscapes and still life’s layered with subtlety and depth.
