Biography

“Painting is a divine connection with nature.”

As a child, Lynn enjoyed drawing caricatures of her fellow classmates and teachers, this led to a lifelong love of art. After graduating Purdue, Lynn was an art director in corporate advertising. While working on a masters’ degree at U of L, she took her first painting class and discovered Cadmium Red was in her blood.  She has been plein air painting landscapes and river scenes, Churchill Downs, and National Parks ever since.  She won First Place in the 2023 Farm to Forest Plein Air at the Alexandria Museum of Art, and 2023 Judges Award in the Converse Indiana Paint Out.

Plein Air painting allows for a Divine connection. She enjoys hiking and biking in the landscapes she paints and often explores new towns in her quest for the perfect plein air painting.  She also enjoys yoga, pickleball and volunteering for Norton Children’s Hospital and events that help the homeless.

Lynn is a signature member of the American Impressionist Society and Indiana Plein Air Painters. Her work is featured in, Southwest Art Magazine and the Plein Air Magazine. She created the Derby and Oaks Poster and the 2018 Woodford Reserve Bourbon Holiday label. Her work is in corporate collections including the Owensboro Hospital, The Moose Lodge, Fifth Third Bank, Brown Forman, and Dell Corp.  

Her accomplishments and memberships include:

  • Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society.
  • Member of the Indiana Plein Air Painters and Painters of the Bluegrass. 
  • She participated in 2021 Paint Grand Traverse. 
  • Her work is featured in, Southwest Art Magazine and the Plein Air Magazine.
